Buried at Sea.

Knowing that you were about to be taken out of this world must have been real tough, as Navy SEALs closed in on your mansion Mr. Bin Laden. The fear you felt must have been unimaginably terrible and for that I have no sympathy, only a kind of grim glee. I long ago reserved my tears for the human beings who jumped to their deaths on September 11th, -martyred as unwilling participants in your attempts at global symbolism. You saw great value in killing people on their way to work around the world.

You had marshalled your considerable wealth to kill as many people as you could around the world to make a point to governments you formerly collaborated with for the last twenty five years. You killed people working at embassies.

Now, you're dead.

The world will not be thrust back into the 15th century, or whatever it is you were trying to bring about with your sad, repressive brand of religious fundamentalism.

The United States Armed Forces, in its great wisdom, denied you the moral high ground of having your body desecrated, and instead condescended to your own traditions.

Your chapter is closed.

If only there were really a Hell for him to burn in.

This sho*uld destroy the far right's claims that Obama is a Muslim or is soft on terrorism.

@Jack,
it should... but give the GOP time. The Right will attempt to take credit for it, -or just out and out "misremember" events to their liking.
I actually tuned into Fox "News" this morning just for laughs. Whereas every single actual news outlet in my cable package ran clips of the President's speech, FNC did no such thing. They had Congressman Peter King on instead. To his credit King caled the entire move on Bin Laden and the policy behind it, an unqualified success (I'm sure he'll find something to copmplain about later) Brit Hume (isn't he retired?) was prompted in on FNC and gave a comically begrudging acknowledgement of this administration's success.

While conservatives like Bush and Cheney have given Obama the credit he rightfully deserves, the right-wing extremists have been true to form. F**k them. We should rise above politics at a time like this and rejoice.

Right you are TnLib.
But predictably, -there they go, putting themselves ahead of the nation's concerns and in front of the welfare of the entire human race across the globe.
Predictable.

To be perfectly honest, as an inhabitant of the sea and a solid citizen of the realm, you have no idea how much I resent those humans dumping trash in my backyard. Osama FIN Laden, indeed. Why not embalm and stuff him in a Tanqueray bottle; then call him Osama GIN Laden. As for that Tonsil Dump character, why not call him Osama TWIN Laden.

And anyone who criticizes the Pres. for bagging the bum should be renamed Osama SPIN Laden.

@Octopus,
Apologies. The dumping of trash into the oceans is a deplorable activity.
Hopefully the bottom dwelling single cell organisms will make work of him.
...that or we can always call Aquaman.
Cheers Octopus, it's good to hear from you.

Hopefully those Israeli-trained Mossad sharks have eaten him and turned him into fish crap

@Silverfiddle,
I'd rather they had finer dining options.
Even sharks deserve better. Especially those swimming in service of their country.

The question becomes how quickly we can end our nation-building in hostile lands. I say it'll be a high crime if another pair of USA boots-on-the-ground are lost to another I.E.D. after May Day 2011.

Amen Vig.
That's the sobering part of all this. An operation that applied scarce more in concrete resources, manpower and tech than what a DEA bust requires in any American city took this asshole down. Intel, and a targeted approach, not a couple of wars and billions of dollars and far too many lives were the key to putting Bin Laden down and letting his federation of creeps know that they can't get away with jack shit.
I count you among the many who can honestly say "I told you so" because you were saying so all along.
Thanks for stopping by.
